BIOGRAPHY / RESUME

Nathan Willcocks is trilingal and grew up in England, Spain and France.
He completed his education in France, obtaining a Baccalauréat A3 in Audio Visual Art and Philosophy.
Originally, he trained at ‘The Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique de Bordeaux’, then moved to London.

In London he trained at the prestigious ‘Lee Srasberg -Institute’, intensive Shakespeare workshop at The Old Vic by RADA ( Royal Academy of Dramatic Art ) and performed in many fringe plays across the UK and at the Edinburgh Festival.

He worked at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Brad Fraser’s - ‘Martin Yesterday’ (European Premiere ) , ‘As you like it’ directed by Marianne Elliott (Tony Award Winner 2011) .

He Played Jean-Yves in the film ‘Beginner’s Luck’ directed by Nick Cohen &  James Callis and released by Guerilla Films(2002).
Cast includes: Julie Delpy, James Callis and Steven Berkoff.

He also played the lead role in the short Film ‘Constant Flow’
(winner Fuji Film Award)  and played many roles in film and theatre  which include working with Bruno Ganz on ‘Saint-Ex’ (directed by Anand Tucker) and cast in the last production of ‘The Warp’ directed by Ken Campbell and received a Time Out Critic‘s Choice with a production of ‘Peer Gynt’ at The Battersea Arts Centre.

His diverse skills led him to work with such musical talent as Karl Wallinger ‘World Party’ directing videos and even singing backing vocals on a cover version of ‘All The Young Dudes’ for the film ‘Clueless’ with Alicia Silverstone.

He also worked briefly for 20th Century Fox, assisting casting for  X Men and Moulin Rouge (UK).

In 2005 - (1 year World Tour)
Nathan played Henry Higgins in a production of ‘Pygmalion’ produced by American Drama Group and Tour de Force / World Tour including Japan.

More recent ventures led him to Barcelona where he acted in a  TV pilot : ‘T de Térapia’ (2 episodes) for the Spanish Director Cesc Gay and worked on many voice overs  for documentaries and films for Audio Projects (Barcelona).

Since November 2008 Nathan has moved to Paris, working as a freelance teacher in English Cinematography at:
Le Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français, La Cinémathèque Française and Le CNC (Centre National de la Cinématographie).

In May 2009 he appeared in ‘Le Passager’ (short-16mm) by Yann Delattre at La FEMIS and in June he played the lead role in ‘Mama, The Christmas Tree Is Burning’ (short-16mm) by Morgan Simon at La FEMIS.

In August 2009- he played the part of Inspector Callum in ‘The Book of Dreams’ directed by Janis Skulme.

In October/November 2009- 3 shows ‘Spectacles De Lanterne Magique’ at La Cinémathèque Française in which he played the Narrator (in French and English) directed by Laurent Mannoni.

Since November 2009, Nathan has been coaching acting to first year students at Acting International, Paris.

2010

In January- Played the lead in ‘What’s Up Bastard’, a short film directed by Morgan Simon presented at The Mobile Film Festival in Paris.

In February- Played the part of ‘William Brown’ in the feature film ‘Paris Connections’ directed by Harley Cokeliss. Cast includes:
Charles Dance, Nicole Steinwedell, Anouk Aimee, Trudie Styler and Anthony Delon.
Produced by Amber Entertainment and released in the UK and US.

In March-
 Played the lead in the short film ‘La Nuit Porte Conseil’ by Maxime Gazeau.
April- ‘Spectacles de Lanterne Magique’ (Cinémathèque Française) which was presented in Turin (in Italian) at  The Venaria Reale.
September-  Played Tony in ‘Galop D’essai’ directed by Morgan Simon.
October - Voice over recording ‘BBC Reporter ‘ for Luc Besson’s new film ‘Dans la Lumière’.
November- Narrator (voice over) for ‘ Impunity’ feature length documentary directed by Juan José Lozano and produced by Dolce Vita Films and Arte.
World Premiere at the International documentary film festival Amsterdam.idfa 2010.
December- voice over : ‘Daddy wants to go home’directed by Laura Gozlan- Animation/France/Studio Le Fresnoy.

2011

January -He played the lead role in 'Une longue tristesse' directed by Morgan Simon.

In February played the lead role Goose in the short film 'Goose' directed by Morgan Simon and produced by Pierre-Louis Garnon and part of the series of shorts produced by La Femis 'Crache to Venin'.

In February-WINNER BEST FILM  ‘Une longue tristesse’
at The Mobile Film Festival 2011 in Paris.
(unanimously given by the Jury which included Philippe Claudel, Olivier Rabourdin and François Bégaudeau -Palme d'or Cannes 2008- to name a few). 

In March played the lead role Robertson in 'Fantasmagorie' directed by Laurent Mannoni produced and created by The Cinémathèque Française at The Louvre- which will be shown on Canal+ and Arte in 2011/2012.

The award winning feature length documentary 'Impunity' directed by Juan José Lozano (produced by DolceVita Films and Arte) was shown at The ICA, The Ritzy in London and also  at The Lincoln Center in New York in June at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival 2011.

Voice Over for 'Airbus' 3D Film directed by Didier Gros Jean and presented at Le Bourget Air Show June 2011-

July -’Cathedral’ directed by Sylvia Kochinski-Played the part of the blind man 'Robert'.
The short film 'What's up Bastard' was shown at the Festival of Avignon 'Fast Movies'.

In early August played the part of Eph in ' Rue Bergère' directed by Noé Weil / due for release this winter 2011.
 
September/October 2011
Cast as one of the lead roles ' Nate ' in Morgan Simon's next film entitled 'American Football'  produced by Easy Tiger , CNC and Canal +

Will be Premièred in Feb 2012 at the Cinema L'Arlequin (Paris) as an opening to the Mobile Festival 2012.

November-
Made an apearance on Prime time televison as an acting coach on Tf1’s ‘Dance avec les Stars’ -coaching Philippe Candeloro. 

 (Candice Pascal and philippe Candeloro came 2nd place at the finals of the show).
